ADAM Questionnaire Explained: How the 10-Question Low Testosterone Screening Works, How It Is Scored and How Accurate It Is
The ADAM questionnaire is a 10-question yes/no screening tool for symptoms of low testosterone in men. How to Calculate Free Testosterone: The Vermeulen Equation, a Worked Example and What the Result Means
Free testosterone can be estimated from three blood results: total testosterone, SHBG and albumin. The Vermeulen equation converts them to mol/L, accounts for testosterone bound to albumin, and solves a quadratic equation for the unbound fraction. Can Low Testosterone Cause Erectile Dysfunction? What the Link Really Is — and What It Is Not
Yes, low testosterone can contribute to erectile dysfunction, mainly by lowering sex drive and affecting night-time and spontaneous erections. But most ED involves blood flow, nerves, other health conditions or stress, and low testosterone is only one possible factor. A blood test and a provider evaluation separate them. Testosterone therapy helps only when low testosterone is genuinely part of the problem.

Erectile Dysfunction Evaluation: What to Expect From the History, Exam, Blood Tests and a Telehealth Visit
An erectile dysfunction evaluation usually includes a sexual and medical history, a short questionnaire such as the SHIM, a review of medications, a physical check that may include blood pressure and weight, and blood tests such as testosterone, blood sugar and cholesterol.
